A popular residential neighborhood of Toronto. Bloor West Village is considered to be the best shopping districts in the city . Here, you can avoid the big box stores and Chain outlets . Bloor west is known for its colourful mix of smaller more interesting stores and specialty markets . Along Bloor Street you can find a number of groceries, pharmacists, produce merchants, colourful restaurants and pubs .

Runnymede Theatre - Chapters
The former Runnymede Theatre , currently a Chapters bookstore was built in 1927 by Capitol Theaters as an atmospheric vaudeville theatre, Highly adorned and decorated on the inside it was known for music and stage shows , The 1400 seat theater was a popular spot in the city . As live theater gave way to movies the Runnymede was converted as a movie theater in the late 30's. Its overcapacity and older building meant it was a money loser as a movie theater and was slated for demolition until taken over and renovated as a bookstore . The old charm of the original theater can be seen around the store .

BIA boulevards
Baby Point , Wide leafy tree lined boulevards mark this neighborhood as one of the more exclusive enclaves of Toronto and the neighborhood, where the houses are more expensive . Developed in the early 1900s for executives of the railways, and it has remained a more executive neighbourhood. Mostly young professionals, academics, lawyers and doctors live here.

 

High Park is the largest park in Toronto .One third of the park remains in a natural state, the rest is set aside for recreation with sporting facilities, cultural facilities, educational facilities, gardens, playgrounds and a zoo. Numerous walking trails and foot paths thread their way through the 161 hectares (398 acres ) of natural beauty located in the heart of the city. Grenadier Pond lies to the west and attracts ishermen year round and skaters and curlers populate the ice in the winter


The Old Mill Inn , a landmark to the west over looking the Humber river . The Old Mill with it's Tutor style buildings stand on more then 2 Hectares of land . The restaurant and banquet hall has been in operation for nearly 100 years , a Spa and and English Style Inn was added ten years ago . Originally a saw mill built in 1793 , the mill became unused and a Tea Garden opened in 1914 to serve the exclusive Baby Point enclave across the river .


Bloor West village's annual Ukrainian festival is North America's largest Ukrainian street festival . The three day event is a great chance to sample Ukrainian culture and food . The September festival is always a great event with performers , musicians and dancers and the colour of the Ukrainian folk costume fill the street .
